From the New York Times: Review of The Yellow Book

-The popularity of the Yellow Book has
declined of late. and Copeland and Day
intend, it is said, to discontinue it, all of
which seems to show that the critics cannot
make a work popular by abusing it.
Never was a book more generally “jumped
on” than “The Yaller Book.”
