The image is circular and is centered in the upper region of the page. It is printed in dull yellow-gold and olive green ink. The image background is green, and the foreground matter is yellow and white. In the right foreground, a man kneels on the steps of an arbored terrace which surrounds a doorway. He is wearing a wide-brimmed hat with a strap around his chin and a loose garment over the lower half of his body. The man on the steps is facing the terrace so that only his left-side profile is visible. He is holding a small birdcage in front of him and his head is slightly tilted upwards. On the steps of the terrace, a tall adult woman in the doorway stands draped in fabric. The right side of her body is exposed by the fabric falling off of her. She is holding a small child in her arms and is looking down towards the man holding the birdcage with outstretched arms. In the bottom left region of the image, another small child’s upper body emerges from the door leading to the terrace. The child’s arm is reaching towards the woman. Two doves are in flight above the right side of the fence in the background behind the kneeling man.
