SAVOYV7_icon8_dearmer_panpipes

The line-block reproduction of Mabel Dearmer’s pen-and-ink drawing is bordered by a rectangular box in portrait orientation. The illustration is of a satyr or faun sitting on a stump in the hollow of a tree. He has a wreath of leaves in his hair and is playing panpipes. The tree has roots that spiral around the satyr and descend into the ground by his left hoof. There are mushrooms on both sides of the the trunk, sprouting from the ground. The artist’s initials are tucked under a mushroom on the left side of the page, they read: “MD” [caps]. In the bottom third of the image is open space. The surrounding tree is composed of distinct lines that often run parallel to one another. In the top third of the illustration, the wood is covered in white ivy leaves.
