Image is of a woman standing on the bank of a body of water with a person who appears to be a younger woman sitting down beside her. Both are looking out to the right of the image at a young person standing in the water, with a naked torso.. The woman standing on the bank has long, light-coloured hair and is wearing a loose dress with a white top and a black skirt. She is leaning forward slightly and is using both hands to pull her skirts up, away from the water. The seated woman or girl has long light-coloured hair and is wearing a white smock with a decorative pattern along the hem and flower patterned sleeves. She is turned towards the bather. Only the side of her face is visible. The bather in the water has thick dark hair. They are standing waist-deep in the water; the outline of the legs is faintly visible below the surface. The bather’s torso is above the water and their left hand is in a fist over the chest. The bather’s head is tilted slightly to the right. On the shore, behind the two figures, there is a single tree. Along the top of the image, foliage visible along a far shore. The artist’s mark is in the lower-right hand side of the image. In the lower left corner is the engraver’s name “Hare Sc.” The image is vertically displayed with a black border.
