The image is of five women. Three of the women are stomping on grapes in a through. These three women have long flowing hair; they are topless and are wearing knee-length skirts. A woman is standing outside on the right, looking towards the three women in the trough; her fingers are dipped into the trough full of grapes; she is wearing a chiton and her hair is in a chignon. A dove is pictured perching on the front of the trough. A second dove is pictured on the left of the perched dove, and is mid-flight. A fifth woman is located in the bottom-right corner of the image. She is playing a flute; her clothing is dark and her hair is in a chignon. Three pithoi jars are on the bottom-left of the image. One of which is located underneath a tap that is expelling the liquid from the vat into the jar. In the background, there is a small hill with trees near its peak. At the bottom of the hill, there is a stream with several trees scattered alongside the water. Numerous birds are pictured flying in the distance. The artist’s mark is in the lower left corner of the image: the initials “R B” inside a circle. The engraver’s signature “Hare Sc” is in the lower left corner. The image is bound within a double-ruled border. The image is vertically displayed.
