The hand-coloured illustration is centered above the text, in a circular black frame. In it, a ship sails on a green sea. The ship and its billowing sails are coloured a pale yellow. Behind the ship, enormous white clouds are set against a blue sky. At the bottom of the image is the number “IX.” The artist’s monogram is at the bottom left of the frame.
