The illustrated advertisement occupies the top third of the page of advertisements. The ad is titled “West Indian Folk Stories,” in a large serif font. Below the title is printed, “Told by GELUKIEZANGER at Entertainments, / At Homes, &c., / For terms apply to the Editor of The Green Sheaf.” To the left of the text is a small, coloured illustration with a black rectangular frame. It depicts a woman wearing green robes, a green headband, hoop earrings, and a necklace, sitting cross-legged on the floor telling a story. She sits atop a blanket, and in front of the blanket are several small puppets or wooden figures.
