GSV13-supplement2

This charcoal portrait of Frederick York-Powell is centered on the page, in rectangular shape, in portrait orientation. It depicts York-Powell from the shoulders up, sitting in three-quarter profile, facing left. He wears a dark vest and suit jacket, white shirt, bow tie, pince-nez, and a beard. In the bottom right corner, the image is signed by the artist and dated 10/04/01. Below the image is printed “Reproduced by kind permission of Oliver Elton, Esq. From a drawing by JOHN B. YEATS.” Below this text is a handwritten note, “Mieux tard que jamais / Fredk York-Powell / Ch Ch / 25 J 1900.” The end of the “Y” in “York-Powell” extends below the name to form the sketched profile of a face.
