The reproduced water colour appears in landscape orientation. It shows a crowd of people in a public park. Several of the figures are watching a blue bird flying overhead, pictured in the upper left quarter of the image. In the foreground in the lower right quarter of the painting, two women in hats and full length gowns are sitting together on a park bench. The woman on the right has turned her face away from the viewer as she watches the crowd. The woman to her left is seated in profile looking at a large pot of flowers on a stand to her left. Her right hand is reaching towards the flowers. To the right of these two women, a man’s face in profile appears in the upper right side of the painting. He wears glasses and the rim of his hat is visible as he gazes up at the bird, but he is painted in shadow so further details are unclear to the viewer. To the left of the two women on the bench a couple stands, waving at the bird. The male figure, at left, is shown with his back to the viewer. He is dressed in a suit with a long coat. In his right hand he waves his tall hat, in his left hand he waves a crop or cane. Facing the viewer, to the right of this man, and to the left of the two women on the bench, a woman in a full length white dress with hat gazes up at the bird, waving her right arm in the air. In her right hand is a flower. Another finely dressed couple walk arm-in-arm towards the viewer in the background behind this woman. To the left of both couples is a line of trees. The background to the right of the tree line shows a cloudy sky. The foreground frames the entire scene in perspective with a tall tree filling the left side of the image, and an iron fence running the width of the image along the bottom. Author signature and painting title appears written above the fence line in the lower right corner.
