The charcoal-sketch image in landscape orientation is of a lioness lying on her right side, centred in the image, with her tummy facing the viewer. Her body takes up most of the space of the frame, and there is some shading around her body and head. The lion is stretched so that her front paws reach to the edge of the image, with her tail reaching the other end, though the tail is curled. There are two cubs, the first is lying on top of the lioness. The second cub is lying on its back in front of the lion and extended a paw upwards to meet the other cub. The cubs’ paws are touching. A thin bounding box of pencil contains the image.
