Image is of a street in a town The road runs from the extreme left foreground to the middle of the image dividing the picture in half diagonally On the left side of the road are six buildings they all have similar facades of light walls and narrow shingled roofs Several thick tall bushes grow in front of the four furthest buildings The fourth building in the row has a sign hanging outside reading Red Lion Hotel In front of the buildings on the left side of the street there is a figure on a wagon To the right of these buildings and further down the road is a similar looking building This building has a clock on its façade it also has a belfry A figure sits on the fence to the right of the structure Many tall trees grow behind each of the buildings In the right middle ground a portion of a bay window can be seen In the bottom right hand corner is a framed box that has the words Stanstead Abbots in cursive The artists initials E H N are right underneath The image is vertically displayed
