ILLUSTRATION FOR “FROM EAST TO WEST”

This hand-coloured border illustration borders the text of the poem “From East to West” along the left. It consists of four coloured circles, each containing two faces, and each corresponding to the stanza with which it aligns. The Both faces face the viewer, one atop the other, surrounded by their long hair. The images shift in colour, top to bottom, through green, yellow, orange, red, purple, and blue, corresponding to the time of day represented in the aligned stanza, moving from dawn to night. The artist’s monogram is in the right side of each image.
